Best Graduate Schools for Information Technology

Yesterday, I was approached by someone who wanted to know where they should go for the best graduate education in Information Technology (IT). Initially, I was hesitant to recommend one school over the other and even considered telling them that I questioned the value of an IT masters degree… suggesting that the return on investment might be higher for an MBA or Computer Sciences degree.
In my research, I went to the trusted, US News and World Report "Best Schools" List and this is what I found that their rankings showed:
Best Business Schools: Information Technology Specialty Rankings:
Ranked in 2009
| 1 | Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan) Cambridge, MA |
| 2 | Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper) Pittsburgh, PA |
| 3 | University of Texas–Austin (McCombs) Austin, TX |
| 4 | University of Arizona (Eller) Tucson, AZ |
| University of Minnesota–Twin Cities (Carlson) Minneapolis, MN | |
| 6 | University of Maryland–College Park (Smith) College Park, MD |
| 7 | New York University (Stern) New York, NY |
| 8 | Stanford University Stanford, CA |
| 9 | University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) Philadelphia, PA |
| 10 | Georgia State University (Robinson) Atlanta, GA |
Disclosure: I went the second route. My graduate degrees are an MBA and an MS in Systems Engineering so I never got an IT MS. That is why I needed help with this question.
What do you think of their rankings? Do you know of a better school? Would you recommend an IT masters degree?
