Hysterical Set of Information Technology Comics
Let it be known that I never want this blog to get too serious. For many of you, I know that you struggle to keep your sense of humor during the day-to-day challenge to deliver information superiority and competitive advantage for you organizations. Saturdays, I try very hard to honor the weekend by making my posts have a humorous bent.
I don’t think that there is anything better than simple comics that are office friendly and can offer huge laughs in only a little space. I was recently given the tip to check out the work of comic artist Randy Glasbergen. He is a prolific artist with hundreds of cartoons spanning tons of categories. For me though, his computer and business inventory of comics made me laugh so hard that I cried at my desk. You should go check it out here at www.glasbergen.com.
Here is a small sample of his work from his website:
The credit for this wonderful comic is embedded in the image. You can find this comic along with a lot more about IT here.
Besides just being funny, though, it brings to light one of the most frequent complaints of IT pros – leadership can seem a little resistant to change and innovation. Just a little mind you… Maybe comics like this can be employed as a low-impact means of hinting leadership to evaluate their stance towards IT? Maybe we can all laugh together about it?
What do you think? Do you know of any other good IT comic sites or artists? Do you have any IT jokes to share?
That is my Information Technology Thought of the Day (ITTOD) for July 18, 2009.
