Today, I wish to feature Delicious.  Delicious is a fascinating web post aggregator akin to Digg or Alltop, but only in result not function.  Officially,  Delicious is a social, online bookmarking site.  You sign up for an account and can bookmark any site that you like.  You can then call-up those bookmarks online from any browser.  This is very handy for people who use public terminals or work systems where they cannot access their bookmarks/favorites.  It also provides a means to have only one favorites list up in the cloud vice a different one on every computer.  The real power of the site comes though once you agree to share your bookmarks.  Now the real fun begins.  Your bookmarks get combined with everyone else’s and you get an instant “best of the web” for every possible topic based upon real people’s opinions of popularity as judged by their bookmarking it.  Unlike the perishable nature of Technorati or Digg rankings, Delicious ones stay forever and often times recent bookmarks of older sites are actually the most valuable metric.

Delicious is free.  It has a very clean interface that minimizes ads.  It smacks of getting things done vice selling you stuff.  It imports from all the major browsers.  It can be filtered for popularity, freshness, or up and coming.  It is supremely usable,

What is Delicious?  I cannot describe it better than they do… From their own about page:

Delicious is a social bookmarking service that allows users to tag, save, manage and share web pages from a centralized source. With emphasis on the power of the community, Delicious greatly improves how people discover, remember and share on the Internet.
