A funny IT Quote from Doug Larson
0
Something as penetrating in our society as Information Technology is certain to generate a lot of funny quotes. Doug Larson, celebrated columnist for the Green Bay Press-Gazette gave us some very funny ones!
I usually feature comedy on Saturdays. In the past, I have featured jokes, comics, cartoons, and news on the weekends. Sometimes I include comics, stories, games, and photos. This week it will be a funny quote. You can read more about the author at Wikipedia.
“Home computers are being called upon to perform many new functions, including the consumption of homework formerly eaten by the dog.”
I hope that I gave you a good chuckle to make your weekend a little more enjoyable. I will be back Monday with more serious IT topics!
What did you think of the quote? Did you like it? Do you know of any other similar ones? Please share.

More Help Desk Humor (photo)
0I love the folks who work Enterprise Service Desks… or IT Help Desks, if you prefer. You have to admit that their work is thankless and mostly unrewarding. It does take a special kind of techie to put up with “users” all day long. It also results in a very dry sort of humor that I think, is a form of self protection!
Today, I found this funny picture on the web and thought that I would share it with you. Here’s to the help desk…
I hope that it gets your post holiday Tuesday off to a great start.
While you are chuckling maybe it is a good day to thank the “guys on the help desk” for all that they do to keep your organization up and running?

News Commentary – Three Cheers for Pac-Man
0This week marks a huge anniversary in the Information Technology time continuum.
What could make you feel older than PAC-Man turning 30! The reality is that I know for a fact that many of you would not be Information Technology Professionals if it were not for arcade games just like this one.
On Mondays I offer comments on some of the most interesting information technology stories that I have found on the web that week. Please feel free to join in the discussion or suggest other stories.
Today’s comments were generated after I read a CNN story. It brought back fond fond memories of days gone by and was very nostalgic. It was even handed and factually rigorous. I recommend it to you. Give it a read below.
CNN.com – Chomp! Pac-Man, the arcade classic, turns 30
Man I miss the simplicity and wonder of the days when Pac-Man was new!
What do you think about this topic? Do you agree or disagree with me? Do you have a recommended news story for next week? Please share your ideas below.
