IT Computer Poem of the Week
May 22nd
OK, today is another IT Thought of the Day Poem Day!
On Saturdays, I try very hard to honor the weekend by making my posts have a humorous bent. I have featured videos, jokes, stories, comics, music, and today, I offer you the IT Poem of the Week!
You have to love that name! They have many humorous poems on their site. I hope that you both enjoy it and go to their site to see all the other funny IT poems that they have. This week’s poem is a gift from Silent Words. It was Submitted by Burmah M. Teague from Chickamauga, GA (EMAIL: burmahteague@msn.com)
Today’s poem is just as relevant to IT Pros as it is to average users. Every single computer user can appreciate this one!
MY COMPUTER
My computer has a language
That is foreign to me
It speaks of RAM and Gigabytes
And what could ROM be!
I don’t understand the Windows
My computer says are there
Nor the Gem Clip at the side of my page
With eyes that blink and stare!
I don’t understand the cures
That maintenance wizards do
It’s called defragmenter, scan disk,
And virus cleaning too!
Yet, computer and I work hand and eye
With a mouse to translate
The tasks that I want it to do
While IT points out my mistakes!
What do you think? Do you know of any other good IT joke sites or artists? Do you have any IT humor to share? Have a great weekend.

The user’s reboot poem
Don’t you wish when life is bad
and things just don’t compute,
That all we really had to do
was stop and hit reboot?
Things would all turn out ok,
life could be so sweet
If we had those special keys
Ctrl, Alt, and Delete
Your boss is mad, your bills not paid,
your wife, well she’s just mute
Just stop and hit those wonderful keys
that make it all reboot
You’d like to have another job
but you fear living in the street?
You solve it all and start a new,
Ctrl, Alt, and Delete

IT Joke of the Week: Programming Errors
Mar 27th
I like a good joke as much as the next person. I especially like humorous jokes tied to technology and the Information Age. It is hard to find good IT jokes, but I try. Saturdays, I try very hard to honor the weekend by making my posts have a humorous bent.
This week’s joke is a gift from Kiss My Floppy. You have to love that name! They have some jokes, photos, and funny stories. I hope that you both enjoy it and go to their site to see all the other funny IT jokes that they have.
I am sure that every Information Technology Professional has funny stories from working with coders and software developers. They can be a very gifted and creative bunch!
Comments made by Programmers when their programs don’t work:
- Strange…
- I’ve never heard about that.
- It did work yesterday.
- How is this possible?
- The machine seems to be broken.
- Has the operating system been updated?
- The user has made an error again.
- There is something wrong in your test data.
- I have not touched that module!
- Yes yes, it will be ready in time.
- You must have the wrong executable.
- Oh, it’s just a feature.
- I’m almost ready.
- Of course, I just have to do these small fixes.
- It will be done in no time at all.
- It’s just some unlucky coincidence.
- I can’t test everything!
- THIS can’t do THAT.
- Didn’t I fix it already?
- It’s already there, but it has not been tested.
- It works, but it’s not been tested.
- Somebody must have changed my code.
- There must be a virus in the application software.
- Even though it does not work, how does it feel?
- How come you didn’t find it during the system testing?
- It’s a setup problem.
What do you think? Do you know of any other good IT joke sites or artists? Do you have any IT humor to share? Have a great weekend.
